Air War

Micro Prose
For the serious flight sim player, the meat of this game is the Pilot Career mode. In this mode, you can choose to fly a series of missions for any of the three air forces in Europe (US Army Air Force, Royal Air Force, or German Luftwaffe). Once you select a nationality, you will be asked to select a specific campaign, and then a Fighter Group.
The game offers two overall campaigns: the Battle of Britain and the mainland European air conflict. The groups that you select are historically accurate, as are the aircraft that you will fly as a member of that group. For example, if you choose a US Army Air Force career and pick the 357th Fighter Group, you will start flying the P-51B Mustang in January, 1944. The missions you fly will be appropriate for that aircraft type.
A typical Tour of Duty will last about 25 missions, if you are a skilled pilot and survive! At the end of your Tour of Duty, you have the option of continuing or retiring.
